Dave Lafer, Co-CEO of Ramo Sistemas
Dave Lafer: We started doing business with Huawei in 2019. When we moved our customers to Huawei, the quality of the resources improved a lot. We have a faster environment now. Customers can run the system faster than with the old provider.
Gavin Allen: What does Huawei give your customers that they didn't have before?
Dave Lafer: In the beginning, we provided only the ERP. Now, we can host the whole system under Huawei Cloud. We deliver the whole solution, the backups. Customers need a good environment to run their system without losing data, without any problems, 24 hours a day. We can deliver that.
Gavin Allen: So how important is it to your SME customers that they have access to this range of solutions—cloud solutions, AI solutions—without having to set up complicated infrastructures themselves?
Dave Lafer: Very important. Our customers are looking for productivity, reduced costs, and a better environment to run the system faster. But some of our SME customers are a little afraid because the technology is moving fast, and they can't keep up. Under those circumstances, it can be hard to make the necessary investments. They need a system to control their costs and their business. With new functionalities and new knowledge, they’re looking for AI to accelerate their business.
Gavin Allen: These constant innovations and developments in AI and data solutions—how have they affected your own business strategy?
Dave Lafer: We always need to create more solutions for our customers—new models we can provide them with. We have two kinds: the cross-models that every customer needs, and vertical models for specific sectors.
Gavin Allen: Where do you see Ramo’s partnership with Huawei five years from now? Where do you want it to go, on behalf of your customers?
Dave Lafer: In the next five years, we will accelerate our business using more AI and deliver more knowledge to our customers so they can connect their systems to every company.
Gavin Allen: And that will be effectively "everything-as-a-service" to those customers?
Dave Lafer: Yes, because using the API is using AI. It's easier to connect companies around the world. We are expanding our business in Brazil and Latin America. And in China, I met some companies to accelerate our business not only in Latin America but in Asia, too.
Gavin Allen: So first Latin America, next the world?
Dave Lafer: Yes!
